Introduction
Since TSMC was established in 1992, the accumulated paid-in capital is NT$50 million. The owner Dr. Chang Yi-min is a PhD of engineering, and has been engaged in semiconductor packaging technology for many years, devoting himself to the R&D of electronic digital tire pressure gauge. Dr. Chang designed and produced a type of silicon-based pressure sensor, and obtained patents in Taiwan and the US in 1996 and 1997 respectively. Later in 2005 and 2006, he further obtained new product patents in Taiwan, China, and the US. Besides electronic digital tire pressure gauges and general pressure gauges, TSMC's main products include carbon monoxide detectors, refrigerant detectors, electronic thermometers (in cooperation with British company KI and American company UEI).
For the purpose of industrial upgrade, in 2002, the oil-filled pressure sensor technology was introduced from the US company SSI, which helped improve TSMC's various products, such as liquid level/temperature pressure sensors (for general use and for food processing), etc. The R&D, production, and sales of digital pressure gauges (with the function of temperature calibration) for industrial use is also completed, the products available in Europe and the US.
In recent years, to meet the needs of IoT applications and Industry 4.0, TSMC introduced various wire/wireless communications, such as RS232/485/Modbus, Wi-Fi/BLE/NB-loT/Sub-1G, etc., supporting common communication protocols for networking, such as websocket and MQTT(S). At present, there are several local/oversea IoT projects and standard products. Customized R&D and manufacturing are also available.
